Shady Ridge Lodge
Shady Ridge Lodge is a beautiful big four bedroom, three bath log home with all the amenities a family could want while on vacation in the mountains. Stay warm in front of the custom stone front wood burning fireplace (firewood for the fireplace is available for purchase by the bundle or truckload from Maggie Mountain Vacations). Amenities include a game room boasting a pool table and a built-in desk for those needing a place to be creative or tackle tasks while on vacation. You’ll enjoy keeping in touch with the rest of the world by utilizing the high speed DSL. There is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy themselves while at the cabin including a dining area that seats 6 (plus). All four bedrooms feature a four-poster bed, and the loft has four twins, as well. If you need fresh air while at the cabin, feel free to head out into the front yard for some fresh mountain air.
Less than a 30 minute drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area, Tony’s Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (historic motorcycle, as featured on History Channels “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In about 20 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.
This log home is a 40 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, The Smoky Mountain National Park, and the Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee (even if you do not gamble it has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).
A little more than 35 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estates & Winery, several micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 15 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.
Approximately, 45 minutes away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas. You are just under 1 hour 25 minutes to Gatlinburg, TN and Pigeon Forge (home of Dollywood).
The approach to this vacation rental is a combination of paved and other materials on the road and a short but steep driveway. We advise during the Fall and Winter Season (more specifically during inclement weather) guests use an all-wheel drive or 4 wheel drive for accessibility.
