PLEASE NOTE: The road to this cabin from the main road is an off-road rustic experience and roads getting up to cabin are graveled, steep and bumpy.  Money will not be refunded due to improper vehicles, due to not being able to get to cabin.  This means no sport cars, hybrids, front wheel drive mini vans or sedans, motorcycles or trailers.  Four-wheel drive vehicles only.  This is a dog friendly property.  It is the guest’s responsibility to contact the property manager at Maggie Mountain Vacations as there is an additional non-refundable pet fee, not included in the base rent. Unauthorized pets on property will incur a $300 per pet penalty. No cats or other pets are accepted Exterior security camera on premise.

This beautifully hand-built cabin is surrounded by nature.  Without another cabin in sight, this vacation home sits on over 2 acres of untouched mountain terrain. It comes with your own private pond and rushing creek on property. Complete privacy awaits. Spend the day hiking and exploring the streams and waterfalls nearby. Come home to enjoy a roaring fire in the fire pit by night. Or just relax on the covered porch in the swing. Perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or evening beverage.

The peaceful location of this cabin provides the perfect environment for diving into a good book or even writing one of your own. The mountain view in fall and spring from the sunken hot tub completes the evening. You’ll feel even closer to the stars!  With local wildlife all around, elk are seen walking up the driveway and around the area as well!  Sound like heaven?  We think so too – a perfect place to get away from all the stress and turmoil of everyday life.  We do suggest a visit to the grocery and to bring what you need to stay at this mountain location because you will never want to leave!

Amenities:

A full cozy kitchen opens to the living room space with its comfortable oversized couch and 55” LED big screen TV with DirectTV.  A gas Buck stove is used to heat the cabin and there is no air conditioning, because the mountain air is crisp and inviting.  Outside, fire up the gas grill located beside the picnic table and adjacent to the fire pit.  There you can sizzle up some steaks as the afternoon sun slowly sets through the trees and you recall your adventures of the day.

Sleeping:

This home has two queen bedrooms on the main floor with full bath.  A loft upstairs contains two twin beds for additional sleeping room.  And each bedroom contains a unique handmade queen bed and be sure to notice the tin ceilings that reflect the warmth of the home. Beautiful wide plank floors run throughout the house and a hand carved staircase leads you to the loft sleeping area, which has become a favorite for the kids. A DVD TV with a supply of movies awaits you there.

Nearby Attractions:

Just a few minutes’ drive to the heart of Maggie Valley. Cataloochee Ski Area (known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year). Tube World (snow tubing). Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on the History Channel’s “American Pickers”). Horseback riding and golfing. In about 25 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart. Or head down to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.

This home is only a short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Harrah’s Cherokee Casino (even if you do not gamble, Harrah’s has some of the best restaurants around). Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).

A little more than 50 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America’s largest and most visited privately-owned home). Many great restaurants and micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 30 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.

Approximately, 1 hour away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room). Gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas. You are just under 1 hour 35 minutes to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood).
