Hidden Mountain Respite

« of 2 »

Escape away from everyday life to a place where it’s all about the view but you can stay connected if you wish. That’s what Hidden Mountain Respite is all about, high in Western North Carolina’s Great Smoky Mountains. This mountainside cabin sleeps 11 and offers plenty of space for family and friends. With stunning views from both levels, you will truly feel like you have gotten away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday world, as you enjoy your coffee from the covered front deck that expands to wrap around the side of this majestic home. This cabin is perfect for families or friends seeking a relaxing retreat.

Brand new full concrete driveway leading to this home!  Please note the mountain road to this cabin from the main road is an off-road rustic experience and roads getting up to cabin are graveled, steep and bumpy. Money will not be refunded due to improper vehicles, due to not being able to get to cabin. This means no sport cars, hybrids, front wheel drive mini vans or sedans, motorcycles or trailers.  Four-wheel drive vehicles only.  In any type of snow or winter event four-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, AND chains would be required.  This property is NOT pet friendly.  Unauthorized pets on property will incur a $300 per pet penalty.

Once inside, the main floor opens to a large open living room featuring beautiful stone wood burning fireplace with plenty of comfortable seating. Enjoy board games or family dinners together in the main dining room and open kitchen that is fully stocked with your favorite cooking utensils and appliances. Adjacent to the kitchen on the main floor are two of three queen bedrooms, one full bedroom, full bath and adjacent washer and dryer laundry area.

Entering the upper level, you will immediately feel welcomed by the game room complete with pool table, bar area and a twin over full bunk area. Also on the upper floor is the queen master suite with master bath as well as an additional queen room.

Outside, the afternoon sun will catch you napping or reading your favorite book from the large wraparound deck as you smell dinner cooking on the grill. Give yourself time to finish that last chapter and a glass of your favorite beverage, though! Spend the rest of your evening under the stars enjoying the bubbling hot tub or gather around the fire pit with chairs. Flat screen TV, central air and heat, washer, dryer and Spectrum High Speed Internet and Wifi complete the package. This special mountain getaway will give you lots of memories to take home, and you will surely want to visit again!

Just a few minutes’ drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area (known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on the History Channel’s “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In about 25 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.

A little more than 50 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America’s largest and most visited privately-owned home), many great restaurants and micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 30 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.

Approximately, 1 hour away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas.
