Looking down over Lake Junaluska with views of Asheville, Black Mountain and the Blue Ridge Mountain range in the distance.
This one level home has a cottage quaintness with modern amenities, accommodations include 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. The home offers vaulted ceilings, ambient light filled rooms, a wall of windows, hardwood floors and a full field stone, wall centered, gas burning fireplace in the living area and brick floors throughout the rest of the home. The kitchen is stocked with all your cooking needs to prepare a gourmet meal for the holidays or an intimate gathering.
After a day of shopping in nearby Downtown Waynesville or hiking in the Smoky Mountains, you can sit back and enjoy the panoramic views and cool breeze from the two level deck. There’s a small yard with huge oak trees and field stone walks with built in field stone benches.
Just a 30 minute drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area, Tony’s Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (historic motorcycle, as featured on History Channels “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In less than 20 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.
This cabin is also less than 45 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, The Smoky Mountain National Park, and the Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee (even if you do not gamble it has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).
Not even 45 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estates & Winery, several micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 20 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.
Approximately, 50 minutes away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas. You are 1 hour 30 minutes to Gatlinburg, TN and Pigeon Forge (home of Dollywood).
There is paved, curvy, moderately steep mountain road, vacation home is located at 4900 feet. We do experience inclement weather in this region, seasonally, that may limit accessibility; all-wheel drive is recommended for access. 4-wheel drive is required in late fall and 4-wheel drive with tirechains possibly in winter.
