The Big Chill bar is a favorite hangout for all, complete with TV and ice tub for your convenience. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the Ponderosa Bunk Room and rustic bathroom with huge walk in shower. This property is motorcycle friendly with a large carport and concrete drive. There is a handicap friendly access ramp on upper drive. Additional to the cozy fireplace, the home also has central heat and air. Easy 15 minute drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area, Tony’s Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (historic motorcycle, as featured on History Channels “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In less than 20 minutes you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.
This cabin is also is a short 25 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, The Smoky Mountain National Park, and the Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee (even if you do not gamble it has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).
45 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estates & Winery, several micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 20 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.
Approximately, 1 hour away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas. You are 1 hour 30 minutes to Gatlinburg, TN and Pigeon Forge (home of Dollywood).
Access is moderate and paved with a steep incline and some hair-pin turns upon approach. We encourage you to utilize a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle during Fall and Winter. We do experience inclement weather in this region, seasonally, that may limit accessibility.
