Mountain Heritage Trout Waters

The Mountain Heritage Trout Waters Program was established by the NC General Assembly in 2007 as a means to encourage trout fishing as a heritage tourism activity. Maggie Valley is designated as one of five Mountain Heritage Trout Cities in this pilot program.

Residents and vistors will be able to purchase a 3-day, $5.00 fishing license to fish in the designated Mountain Heritage Trout Waters. There are no additional license requirements for fishing in Mountain Heritage Waters. This special 3-day license can be purchased at the Maggie Valley Chamber of Commerce located at 2961 Soco Road or online at www.ncwildlife.org or by telephone Monday - Friday, 8-5 at 888-248-6834
